Tentative Schedule

Friday  March 19, 2010

Leave Port Columbus.   After arrival in the DR we will take the 1/2 hour bus ride to the SCORE complex.  We'll unpack and have our orientation and dinner.  

Arrive at CMH two hours before your departure time.  

Bring your picture ID, luggage and MINISTRY BAG (be sure you have opened it, and know what is in it)

Chaperones will have your ticket and passport for you at the airport

Saturday March 20, 2010

We will take a bus ride to La Romana, then a boat to Catalina Island.  There we will enjoy snorkeling, swimming, a beautiful white sand beach and an outdoor buffet lunch.  There will be plenty of time to relax back at the SCORE complex in the evening while you apply copious amounts of sunburn medication to your burnt bodies.

Sunday  March 21, 2010

We will worship in a Dominican church service, then return to the SCORE complex for lunch.  Training will take place for the medical mission.  Those not involved will be able to practice and prepare for their areas of ministry.  There will plenty of time to enjoy the beach, take a horseback ride (extra charge), relax around the pool and hang out with friends.

Monday  March 22 and Tuesday March 23

We will go off in many directions.  We will have a medical clinic that lasts all day.  Other groups will go to a school in a sugarcane village.  Another group will take food to a village.  In the afternoon we will switch groups and do it

Wednesday March 24, 2010

We will begin the day with breakfast and then break into three groups.  One will  travel to an orphanage to do ministry and have a medical clinic.  One will feed a village and one will visit a school.  In the afternoon, the groups will switch and we will follow the same schedule.

Thursday,  March 25, 2010

We will return to Santo Domingo for a visit to the Straw Market and a few points-of-interest.  This is the chance to do some shopping and get some souvenirs  or purchase a gift for those who gave you money toward your trip.

Friday, March 26, 2010

The dreaded flight back home where we will once again embrace the cold and snow of Central Ohio.  Warning:  Sometimes we have had major travel interruptions.  It may not be wise to schedule a Spring Break  flight out of CMH for early Saturday morning.
